and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Commentary:
Movie Theater Etiquette Featurette: The
Birth of Darth Vader Regarding The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D: Matt: What a
disappointment. Robert Rodriguez makes a new kid film without his
"Spy Kids" and it turns out to be another child wish fulfilling
fantasy with some lousy 3D effects. But the films target audience (read:
grammar school children, like the ones I took to see this) will love it. I
didn't. Two stars Aron: Actually, I
had a pretty good time with this. Robert Rodriguez really does know how to
make a children's film and does a fine job here. George Lopez makes a fun
comic villain and the 3D effects look pretty good, too. A real nice film
to take small fry to. Three stars. Average Rating: **1/2 (out of
****) Regarding The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants: Aron: I can not
begrudge this film because it appeals to the young girl audience. The
movie is very bland, but the four young ladies do make for some good stories and
performances. Three stars. Matt: I
really, really wanted this film to succeed. However, this story of four
young women sharing a pair of miracle jeans only works 75% of the time.
And that is a real shame, because this film deserves to be better for its target
audience. I hate to do this, but only two stars. Average Rating: **1/2 (out of
****) Commentary: After
an 11 month hiatus, Aron and Matt return to demonstrate how not to behave
while watching a movie in a theater. Please turn off your cell phones, dim
your blackberries, and leave your children at home when seeing anything above a
PG rating. Featurette: The
birth of Darth Vader, as featured in Revenge of the Sith
