Episode 4

6/1/04

Films Reviewed: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Mean Girls

Commentary: High School

Featurette: A music video from Mean Girls

Regarding The Prisoner of Azkaban:

Matt: A new director suits the Harry Potter franchise extremely well!  As in the book, the characters (and actors) grow up and there is no way to escape.  Definitely as strong as the first two, if not a little stronger.  Four stars!

Aron: I loved it, too.  The actors new to the Harry Potter family are all brilliant.  The effects are more than convincing and the story is a notch or two better than the last one.  Four stars, also!

Average Rating: **** (out of ****)

Regarding Mean Girls:

Aron: What a funny movie!  Lindsey Lohan is genius as a homeschooled girl introduced to public school.  People are even using this film as a teaching aide to young girls!  You go!  Three stars.

Matt: What should have been a biting satire of high school life turns into an after-school special, despite the talent involved.  This is not the way Lindsey Lohan and Mark Waters should have followed up their other success, Freaky Friday.  Two stars.

Average Rating: **1/2 (out of ****)

Commentary: Attention, class!  Aron and Matt discussed their favorite high school films, including Rock and Roll High School, the works of John Hughes, Grease and American Pie

Featurette: A music video from Mean Girls
